About the venue

Bletchley Park was the centre for the UK's phenomenally successful attempts to break the German Enigma and Lorenz codes during World War II. Alan Turing, a hugely influential figure in the history of computing was one of many mathematicians and cryptanalyssts working there during the war, and Bletchley was the home of Colossus, one of the earliest digital electronic computers. Formerly a Vicotrian Gothic country house, our seminar will take place in the mansion's Drawing Room, with wifi access and a buffet lunch provided.

Bletchley Park is now a museum run by the Bletchley Park Trust, and houses the National Museum of Computing, a reconstuction of Colossus and an Enigma code-breaking 'bombe'. Delegates will have the opportunity of a private guided tour after the seminar closes.
