Brian Lockwood, is Director of IT at Egglescliffe School, winner of Becta's regional and national Whole School ICT Excellence Award in 2010, and a member of the Open Source Schools steering group.

Brian will describe the wide range of open source applications to create learning opportunities for students at Egglescliffe, where the focus is mainly on enabling web based resources for students to be able to communicate and record their work at school and at home. This year Egglescliffe has upgraded its web based email to an open source communications suite that is an alternative to proprietary products.
