A number of Open Source Schools community members are also regulars at Sunday evening EdTechRoundup flash meetings.
The group describe themselves as "a bunch of like-minded, mainly UK-based, educators interested in educational technology. We produce a regular podcast with the aim of spreading good practice and innovative tools in education. Pedagogically-sound Open Source and Web 2.0 solutions figure quite high on our list of priorities"
On 1st February, ETRU hosted a special edition exploring student blogging, using the open source Word Press Multi-User platform. One listener described this as the 'best EdTech Roundup so far'. The audio for this is at http://www.archive.org/download/EdtechroundupSpecial-StudentBloggingAndW...
More recently, there was a conversation about open source software in general, as well as some very interesting experiences of IT-related continuing professional development in schools. The audio for the 15th February meeting is online at http://www.archive.org/download/EdtechroundupWeekly16/ETRUweekly16.mp3
The programmes are available as a podcast, and Open Source Schools members can expect a warm welcome at the Sunday night virtual meetings: further details on the wiki at http://edtechroundup.wikispaces.com/
