Presented by Glenys Bradbury of TDM, an official Mahara partner
Introduction: I am proposing a session on presenting Mahara as an an eportfolios for schools. I will briefly introduce the background to the open source mahara project, the links with the open source VLE Moodle project before looking at some of the features.
Features & Examples: We will then look at the various features of Mahara e-portfolio and social networking facilities at a generic level, before moving onto some possible applied situations that Mahara might be useful for. Such examples could include group projects, individual projects, constructing an online record of achievement, access to students learning forparents of boarders, portfolios for diploma students, staff groups & Staff CPD.
Demo Site: TDM will make available the use of a demo site during the unconference and for two weeks post conference for delgates to have a play around with the platform.
This session could be turned into a hands on workshop if we have access to a computer suite or if enough delegates have access to wireless/mobile internet enabled laptops.
I am happy to modify or change the session/workshop according to needs, please post comments and I will adapt accordingly.
