I'm working with quite a number of schools on http://myschoolclosures.com

The idea behind the project is that parents and teachers can be notified in the case of a closure, registration can be done from inside of a school learning platform/website and all school info is available using the api.

Initially the service is completely free and ad free and hopefully we can continue that with SMS support from ja.net however this is unlikely.  How awesome would it be if parents recieved a free sms if their childs pupil was closed though?  

95% of the technical bits are working and over 1000 parents have registered, I still need to write a publicly available skype API module that will allow schools to verify their closure..

At the moment I have about 4 people on my team working on this project however if you think this could be useful to other schools in the future then please feel free to contribute..  We need a huge range of skills from web design to php to c# to marketing so anything you can do to help would be great :)
