Stephen Armitage
Currently an ICT Technician at Manor High School in Oadby, Leicestershire. We are an RM Pioneer School and try to teach using a mosaic of technologies to give our pupils exposure to a large variety of applications and methodologies.
Our open source efforts thus far include Open Office, Audacity, Paint.net, Inkscape, KompoZer and Firefox installed on all our Windows PCs. We also have 50 Eee PCs (or RM Asus Minibooks as they are branded by RM) running a customised version of Ubuntu's netbook remix. We also have a number of thin clients running Thinstation Linux to connect to our 2 windows terminal servers, although I am looking into the prospect of installing Ubuntu onto these as well.
